The Science Behind SuperAkki®

Research-based serving amounts

Every ingredient has a reason. Every amount has a reference.

We will show you every milligram, every study, every reason. Most of this industry goes light on amounts by default. We do not.

SuperAkki® bottle

The formula at a glance

Four ingredients. Four reasons.

No proprietary blends. Here is exactly what is in every three-capsule serving, and the published research amount each one is matched to.

IngredientAmountWhat it doesResearch context
Akkermansia Akk11 (pasteurized)
30 billion TFU Supports gut lining and microbial balance* Matched to the 3.0×10¹⁰ cells/day used in the Akk11 RCT 2026, same strain
NAG (N-Acetyl-D-Glucosamine)
1,000 mg Supports the mucus layer and gut barrier* Matches the Vinderola 2026 ex vivo study (1 g/day)
Bioferrin® Lactoferrin
250 mg Supports digestive comfort and microbial balance* Same tier as the Mhatre 2020 RCT (200 mg/day arm)
Organic Agave Inulin
250 mg Supportive prebiotic component* Below the typical studied amount. A supportive role, honestly disclosed

Where it all happens

One thin layer. A lot riding on it.

Most of what people mean by "gut health" comes down to a single thin barrier between you and everything you eat. Picture three layers working together: the lumen, where food and microbes pass through; the mucus layer, a protective gel that coats the gut wall; and the epithelium, a single sheet of cells held together by tight junctions.

SuperAkki® is built around the ingredients that support this system, and each one works in a specific place.*

Ingredient deep dives

The four ingredients, in detail.

What it isA keystone gut bacterium, pasteurized into a stable, inanimate postbiotic form. It lives in the inner mucus layer, where it grazes on host-secreted mucin and signals goblet cells to keep producing it. Muciniphila literally means mucus-loving.
What it doesSupports gut lining integrity and microbial balance. Its active surface protein, Amuc_1100, is heat-stable and engages the TLR2 receptor on intestinal cells in a way that supports tight-junction expression.*
Amount per serving30 billion TFU per three-capsule serving, matched to the 3.0×10¹⁰ cells/day of the same Akk11 strain used in the Akk11 RCT 2026.
Why pasteurizedPasteurization (70°C for 30 minutes in the published method) produces a heat-stable, shelf-stable preparation that does not require refrigeration. The active Amuc_1100 protein survives the process.
Key researchDepommier 2019 (Nature Medicine, n=32 RCT, ingredient-class evidence). Akk11 RCT 2026 (Annals of Microbiology, same strain and amount). Plovier 2017 (Nature Medicine, mechanistic).
Compliant claimSupports gut lining integrity and a balanced gut microbiome.*

What it isAn amino sugar. It is the structural building block of the mucin glycoproteins that form the gel layer lining and shielding the gut wall. (Shellfish-derived.)
What it doesProvides the substrate the body draws on to form and maintain the mucus layer that sits between the lumen and the epithelial barrier.*
Amount per serving1,000 mg per three-capsule serving.
Key researchVinderola et al. 2026 (Nutrients). At 1 g per day, NAG was associated with barrier integrity effects (measured as TEER) in an ex vivo human gut model. Our amount matches the amount tested in the study.
Compliant claimSupports the structural building blocks of the gut mucus layer.*

What it isA bovine-milk-derived, iron-binding glycoprotein with a long history in gut and immune research. We use Bioferrin®, the standardized form sourced through Glanbia Nutritionals. (Milk-derived.)
What it doesBinds free iron, which helps shape the microbial environment, and is associated with everyday digestive comfort in published research.*
Amount per serving250 mg per three-capsule serving, the same tier as the active arm in the Mhatre 2020 RCT (200 mg per day).
Key researchMhatre et al. 2020 (International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health). A randomized, double-blinded, placebo-controlled trial reporting lower prevalence of acute digestive symptoms in the lactoferrin arm versus placebo.
Compliant claimSupports everyday digestive comfort and a balanced gut microbiome.*

What it isA soluble prebiotic fiber from agave that selectively feeds beneficial gut bacteria.
What it doesActs as a supportive substrate for the beneficial community in the gut, including Bifidobacteria.*
Amount per serving250 mg per three-capsule serving. We include it as a supportive synergistic component, not as the primary microbiome modulator.
Honest disclosure250 mg is below the typical bifidogenic research threshold (commonly 3 to 8 g per day). We tell you this because you deserve to know it. It plays a supporting role in SuperAkki®, not the lead role.
Compliant claimIncludes a prebiotic component to support a balanced gut microbiome.*

How they work together

Built to reinforce each other.

The four ingredients were not chosen at random. They map onto the same system, and they were designed to support each other. Mucus feeds the microbe. The microbe supports the mucus. The wider environment supports the microbes. It is a loop, and SuperAkki® was formulated to support each point on it.*

How the four ingredients reinforce each other

Research-based serving amounts

Every serving is formulated to follow the evidence.

Every serving of SuperAkki® is formulated to follow the evidence. Each ingredient is included at the amount used in published research. 30 billion TFU of pasteurized Akk11 matches the published amount in the Akk11 RCT 2026. 1,000 mg of NAG matches the Vinderola 2026 ex vivo work. 250 mg of Bioferrin® sits in the same tier as the Mhatre 2020 RCT active arm.

One honest exception. Organic agave inulin at 250 mg is below the typical bifidogenic research threshold. We include it as a supportive synergistic component, not as the primary microbiome modulator. We tell you this because you deserve to know it.
